Hunting knives

A few years ago I made myself a small handy utility knife from 1095 carbon steel. The compact shape and handle design was exactly what I wanted in a hunting knife but unfortunately 1095 is not a stainless steel and in the veld you dont always have water handy to clean your knife with after use and blood start it rusting very quickly. My file knife. I wanted a knife like that but made from a modern stainless knife steel. I decided on a knife maker based on information that he shared online that alowed me to judge his skill level, his website http://www.merweknives.com/ . I drew out the design, cut the design out of cardboard and made some tweek to it untill it was exactly the way I wanted. I sent the design to the knife maker and after some discussion about steel tipes and other details he accepted the commission. A few weeks later I recieved my new knife. I urged the knife maker to take the hollow grind to the limit and it was superbly done. the knife is very compact and just feels right in my hand. I ordered the knife without a sheath as I want it and exact fit for the knife, compact but still very robust. I use 4.5mm thick leather for the task. The fit of the knife keeps the cutting edge away from the welt. The glueing and stitching done. The flaps on the side are there for stitching on the belt loop.

DEE:
Ordered me this same knife, just one of those you have to have.
Ask Jors to cut me the leather for the sheath.
He couldn't stop himself, finished the sheath.
I however had the chance to dye the sheath myself.
Maybe some sort of patterning will be added later
