Trip in the Field

Ean and me, bought an old Honda 250 XL last week.
Ean is learning to ride and I thought it good to go for a ride in the field.
Challenging terrain, thats how you learn the fastest.

Also kitted my bike with the new soft luggage system, so that I can get used to it.
Tiaan also rode with me, on the challenging places, I let him off and he took some pics.

Helped Ean out with the 250 up this hill which was very steep and scattered with lose rocks

Finally reaching the top.

The Honda don't have excellent brakes, and on the downhill, Ean put the Honda down.

Clutch lever broke off

Rode the bike without a clutch, till we got to a place for a pickup.

That was exausting !!!

Klein Pella Bike Trip

Me and a couple of friends decided to do a bike trip to Klein Pella via the gravel roads from Kakamas. In the end, we were only two, the other all had something on for the weekend. We departed after work from Kakamas on the Friday, sleeping somewhere along the road. The women and children came with a bakkie on Saturday morning.

Testing the gear setup on the bike:

Some refreshments for Friday night.

About 70 km out of Kakamas we found a spot to camp. First asking permission from the farmer and then we pitched our camp.

Vacuum sealed steak and a salad on the menu

The next morning was started with a good cup of coffee.

Then it was time to hit the gravel road again.

Filling up in Pofadder

Saturday night we had a "lekka" braai and "kuier" at Klein Pella's camping spot.
Jors and his family joined us by pitching their tent with ours.

Sunday morning, and the bikers looked a bit ragged.

Amazing looking . . . .  was the view

Before departing, we drove down to Jors's house for some coffee and a view of the date plantations

Let's get on that bikes again !!!
